Now let's calculate the total capacity of the available batteries. Let’s say there are 12 12-volt batteries in the system (each capacity is 200 amp-hour). We get 12*12*200 = 28800 Watt/h.

We take into account the loss factor. The example considers new batteries. Maximum efficiency – 95%. We get 2800*0.95=27360 W/h.

Now we divide this value by the average hourly load and ultimately get the operating time of the inverter from the battery. 27360/1320 = 20.7 hours. Let's round the result down. It turned out that the battery system resource will be enough for 20 hours of autonomous operation of the connected equipment.

In this example, we looked at a typical (theoretical) calculation. The battery life of devices is affected by many different factors. Among them:

  • age and state of charge of batteries;
  • ambient temperature;
  • actual operating mode of connected equipment;
  • and etc.
