Induction cooker errors: we can repair it ourselves

Sometimes the induction cooker may display a certain error code on the control panel. Some faults can be repaired manually, while others require specialized intervention from a service center. We will look at common error codes for induction cookers.

Kitfort KT-104

Please note that the errors themselves for slabs from all companies are the same, but the display may be different. For example, in Gorenije stoves the error is indicated by the letter E, while in Hansa models it is indicated by the letter F. It is also worth considering that the errors discussed here and their solution apply exclusively to induction cookers. Problem solving for conventional electric cooktops can be completely different.

Induction cooker TT-EM3000 turns on with error E4

Introduction. Confirming the “electric train effect”, several induction cookers were repaired at the same time. If the first two cases were quite simple and did not take much time to repair, then the third case caused trouble. I would like to note that if the company does not specialize in repairing induction cookers, then there is no point in buying special cookware, so such equipment should be accepted for repair only with cookware. Malfunction according to the customer. The TT-EM3000 induction cooker turns on with error E4.

Primary diagnosis. It was not possible to find instructions for the TT-EM3000 induction cooker, so error E4 did not mean anything. Therefore, we begin diagnostics by replacing all capacitors, which did not produce results. It was also not possible to find the circuit; the identification marks on the board include the inscription QC-3kW-P12 and the date 2007-11-6, so we take the first circuit we came across as a basis

Repair. Since the error occurs when turned on, we assumed that there is an error in the feedback circuits, and since the fuse is not lit, it is logical to assume that the power part is working.

The culprit of the breakdown is the stabilizer U3 (7805)?

E3 – reduced input voltage. As we received it, we turned on the stove from external power supplies, while 220V was not supplied to the power switches, respectively, to the current transformer. Error E3 can be obtained if the resistance of the trimming resistor VR1 (10 kOhm) = 0 Ohm

E4 – increased input voltage. As we received it, the trimming resistor VR1 (10 kOhm) was unscrewed to the opposite position, from position E3. Resistance of trimming resistor VR1 (10 kOhm) = 10 kOhm.

Trimmer resistor VR1 (10 kOhm) and current transformer T1

Since the error did not disappear, the tuning resistor VR1 (10 kOhm) was replaced with two fixed resistors 4.7 kOhm - error E4 disappeared and did not appear again. Conclusion. The nameplate says “Keep a MIN distance of 80mm between ventilation slots and walls!”, but there is a bend on the cable, which indicates that the stove was pressed against the wall, which is strictly not allowed.

The cable bend is visible to the naked eye

Do not use metal to clean the hob...

To clean the hob, do not

Use metal sponges or abrasive cleaners, as they can scratch the glass-ceramic surface.

To clean the hob, do not

Use aggressive cleaning sprays and unsuitable liquid cleaning agents (Fig. 1 and 2).

Decorative drawing

on the hob can wear off due to the use of aggressive and harsh cleaning agents, as well as cookware with damaged or rough bottoms (Fig. 2). Water stains

can be removed with a weak vinegar solution.
Do not wipe the device frame with this solution (in some models), as it will lose its shine. To remove limescale, do not use aggressive sprays or cleaning agents (Fig. 3). Difficult to remove dirt and burnt food
can be removed using a special scraper.

Use the scraper only when

the dirt could not be removed with a damp cloth or glass ceramic cleaner.

When using, the scraper should be held at the correct angle (45° to 60°) to the surface to be cleaned. Using light pressure on the scraper, remove dirt. Make sure that the plastic handle of the scraper (on some models) does not touch the hot surface.

Do not clean the surface with a straight scraper

angle. Make sure that the tip of the scraper does not scratch the cooking surface.

When working with the scraper, also be careful not to injure yourself on the blade! Sugar and sweet foods

can seriously damage the glass-ceramic surface (Fig. 5), so to avoid damage to the surface, remove them immediately with a scraper, even if the hob is not yet cooled (Fig. 4). Changing the color of the glass-ceramic surface

does not affect the operation of the device. Most often these are traces of burnt food, the result of using certain types of cookware (for example, aluminum or copper). Such stains are difficult to remove completely.

The above damage refers to external

form and do not affect the operation of the device. This type of damage is not covered by the warranty.

Error E3

Error E3 indicates unstable voltage. It can be either low or high.

Solution: You need to check the voltage while the device is running. To do this, place the cookware on the burner and turn it on for 1 minute. Then, in operating mode, measure the voltage between phase and zero. To measure the voltage, see the connection diagram drawn under the stove. If the voltage is normal and the stove is working, then there was just a surge. If the voltage is high or low, then you should contact the organization that is responsible for supplying electricity to your home. And if the voltage is normal, but the stove does not work, you will have to call the service center.

For quick cooking on all burners, you can add...

To quickly cook food on all burners, you can additionally turn on the maximum heating power mode. Thus, thanks to the additional power of the burners, large quantities of food can be quickly heated.

Warning!

The burner designated SP (Super PowerBoost) has a maximum heating power mode. The burner operates at maximum power for five minutes and then automatically switches to heat level 9.

Enabling the maximum heating power mode

• Select the cooking zone by pressing sensor C. Using

+ and – sensors, set the heating power to 9 and then immediately press the + sensor.

• The P symbol will light up on the digital display.

Turning off the maximum heating power mode

• Select a hotplate by pressing sensor C and then immediately

click on the sensor –. The P symbol will go out and the heating level will switch to 9.

Basic errors of malfunctioning induction cookers

Housewives use a stove or hob more often than other appliances. Induction cookers appeared on the market not so long ago, but have already proven themselves quite well.

The most popular manufacturers of induction cookers today:

All these manufacturers produce high-quality equipment, but they are not immune from malfunctions and errors during operation.

The most common malfunctions of induction cookers

Let's look at what malfunctions happen with this type of equipment and how they can be fixed.

The stove does not turn on

Make sure that the cookware you use is suitable for the type of stove and will not move off the burner. Otherwise, the stove will turn off the power. On induction cookers, the burner does not heat up. If everything is in order with the dishes, you need to contact a specialist to identify the breakdown.

The stove turns on automatically when there is no cookware on it

It is necessary to remove all metal objects from the surface of the stove and clean the stove. If the malfunction is not resolved, then the problem is in the control unit. It needs to be repaired or replaced.

You should contact the service for this. There, technicians will be able to check the fuse, identify the blown part and replace it.

Lack of power

This is often caused by a defective power cable. The workshop will fix this problem and you will be able to use your tiles again.

Heating problems

A low heating rate may be due to the inappropriate diameter of the bottom of the pan for this burner. It is necessary to check the tightness of the cookware to the surface of the burner. If the pressure springs are loose, they need to be tightened to the level specified in the instructions. You can see how to do this in the video.

Error codes for induction cookers from various manufacturers

It often happens that the induction cooker gives an error. To understand exactly what problem has arisen, you need to know what kind of malfunction a particular code displays.

Thus, error E3 of an induction cooker means that the mains voltage is outside the operating range, and error E0 indicates that the device is incorrectly configured. However, codes from different manufacturers may indicate different faults. For example, code E0, in addition to problems with the settings, may also mean there is no cookware on the burner, and code E3 may mean problems with the inverter.

Let's look at the fault codes that can be issued by induction cookers from manufacturers Electrolux, Combustion, Bosch, Miele and Kitfort, with decoding.

An Electrolux induction cooker error can be indicated by one of the following codes:

If errors E3, E5 and E6 occur, you must seek help from a qualified technician so as not to damage the device.

What to do if malfunctions are detected

An induction cooker can break down just like any other household appliance. Even stoves from well-known manufacturers such as Bosch or Electrolux can sometimes produce errors. Therefore, if any error code lights up on the display of your induction cooker, and you are not sure that you can fix the problem yourself, you should not take the risk. In this case, it is better to entrust the equipment to specialists who will solve the problem without harming your stove. Undertake self-repair only if you are fully confident that you know how to fix the problem.
