Choosing the right literature among the many books, as well as a trainer, teacher, teacher will allow you to significantly progress in the shortest possible time and not stagnate in one place. Therefore, let's look at what criteria should be used to select the best textbooks, regardless of the specific direction, although we place the main emphasis on the technical area, and in particular on choosing a book on electronics for beginners. We will also look at why today almost no sensible textbooks are published in the technical industry.
Let's start with the last question. I will talk from the perspective of the state of affairs in Ukraine, although in other CIS countries the situation is similar; maybe a little better, maybe a little worse.

Tips for a novice electrician
The use of electricity today allows us to solve a huge number of problems. This leads to the fact that many begin to become interested in this phenomenon and study it thoroughly.
In this process, many difficulties can arise that are quite difficult to resolve. The website https://vse-elektrichestvo will help with this.

Basic moments
To become a good electrician, you must adhere to several basic rules:
- First of all, you should familiarize yourself with the basics. Study electrical theory to understand the basic processes that occur in such systems.
- Try to practice with experienced professionals. This will help you gain certain skills and teach you to work in “combat” conditions.
- Be sure to read specialized literature and study the market for new materials or techniques in this area.
Helpful information
For a novice electrician, it is important to understand some basic things:
- Selecting the appropriate cable cross-section for a specific device follows a simple rule. To do this, you should take into account the simple voltage law “Power = Voltage Current”. According to this formula, you can calculate all the main parameters that you know or need to determine. Then, using special tables, you can select the cross-section of cables and other products.
- Electrical wiring should only be laid horizontally or at an angle of 90 degrees. It is not permitted to use other methods. In this case, it is advisable to make a distance of about 20 cm from the wall or ceiling. If there are pipes in the room, then you need to remove the cable from them at a distance of up to 40 cm.
- The shields must be mounted at a height of about 1.2 m (structure size 0.6 m) and at a level of 1 m when the shield exceeds the previously specified dimensions. In this case, keep a small distance between the individual elements to ensure optimal ventilation of the system.
- To protect electrical systems, use special RCD devices that allow you to monitor current leaks and, if necessary, turn off all mechanisms.

How to choose literature for self-education
Now let's look at how to choose the right literature for self-education, regardless of focus.
- You need to pay attention to the number of publications. The more times a book has been published, the more likely it is to be a good book. This means that the book has proven itself over time. Publishers are interested in reprinting such books because there is a demand for them.
- Circulation. The larger the circulation, the greater the demand for the book.
- Bibliography. Pay attention to the bibliography. Over time, you will know the classics in a particular field. And the more references to the works of classics, the more likely the book will be suitable.
In reality, choosing good literature is a more flexible process, but these three markers will serve as starting points.
If you want to understand mathematics, then first you should read books in the style of mathematics for the humanities or mathematics not for mathematicians. The same applies to electrical engineering, electronics, etc., for example, electrical engineering is not for technical schools.
You should not immediately study literature for higher educational institutions; it is better to start with the relevant literature for schools, technical schools, and colleges. The material is presented there more simply and is not cluttered with formulas.

Why is there no sensible technical literature now?
First factor. Now the demand for technical specialties is lower than ever before, and the demand for technical literature is correspondingly reduced. With the development of information technology, the number of people willing to work with their hands has sharply decreased. As a former university teacher, I can say that there used to be a real competition for admission to both a university and a technical school, at least for railway specialties; that is, there were a couple, or even several applicants for one place. Now there is a complete shortage not only in railway specialties, but also in any other specialties, and this is the situation both in universities and colleges. You've probably heard that recently several universities are being transformed into one university by merging them.
This situation is caused, I think, by the fact that now an engineer with a higher education receives a salary at least two or even three times less than a McDonald’s employee who has just gotten a job or a food delivery person in a delivery service like Glovo, etc. .P. no higher education at all and no special requirements. So why study for five years for a specialty with a salary less than that of a beggar? Of course, there is meaning in a university education, but more on that some other time.
Second factor. Teachers themselves have no motivation to write textbooks, let alone good textbooks. To write a good textbook you need to spend at least a year, and more often – two or three years. But the salaries of teachers in our universities are such that there is no time for writing textbooks. And if textbooks are written, it is often in the style of a professor for a professor, and not a professor for a student.
If we do not consider educational institutions, then publications that print technical literature are also disinterested. I was once interested in the question why there is no literature on STM microcontrollers (and this was already five years ago), why nothing new is being released on either AVR or PIC microcontrollers? The answer was that a number of publishing houses that print such literature have already gone bankrupt and closed. After all, it takes time to write and publish a book, and technology does not stand still, therefore, as soon as literature on microcontrollers or operating systems is published, it immediately becomes outdated and almost no one buys it.
In addition, highly specialized literature is published incomparably less than consumer goods. Therefore, it is more profitable for publishing houses to publish literature in the style of “How to make a lot of money”, “How to lose weight quickly”, “How to pump up quickly” or “How to cure any disease”. The circulation of such literature is much larger.
